Celebrating America!

So these mid-week vacations are starting to grow in me. At first we were both complaining about staying home and celebrating since the single day gave us no time to go anywhere, but it was actually quite nice to have a little break--a mini weekend if you will.

We celebrated in true Babcock fashion with five episodes of Law and Order throughout the day and two trips to 7-11. And for me, two burgers!! I had done a twenty miler that morning and for some reason that is what I craved all day!

Okay let's start from the top. So after my run Michael and I laid out by the pool and got some much needed sun. Going from a summer of sports counseling to now being inside working all day has taken a toll on our color unfortunately. After that, we went to In-N-Out, 7-11, and then took a nap!

When we woke up it was time to get ready for our planned adventure out to Shoreline!! It turned out to be much more fun than we anticipated! Palo Alto has been good to us!! First we found the trail along the shore and around the lake! Our bikes were the best idea ever. We found a golf course and clubhouse along the way called Michael's! We actually ended up watching the fireworks there and grabbing a bite to eat.

Along the way, we also found the Rengstorff House (we live on Rengstorff Ave). So pretty and a nice little surprise!

Well, that was our fourth! We definitely missed our families but are loving the start of our own little clan!

  1. Thanks for the recap of your day! I love when you post! You know you could always have Michael do a guest posting, I will look forward to that :)
